Join Our Team
Join Companion Animal Coalition’s mission to help our Erie community. Whether you have an hour or a home to give, there’s a place for you on our team.
Volunteer
You don’t need to be in a shelter or on the frontlines to make a huge impact. At CAC, our team of remote volunteers is essential to keeping things running smoothly and helping animals find loving homes.
Here are just a few ways you can make a difference from home:
📊 Data Entry & Admin Support
Keep us organized! Help with:
Reviewing adoption applications
Maintaining records for animals
Managing spreadsheets or online forms
🎉 Virtual Fundraising & Campaigns
Organize Facebook or Instagram fundraisers
Reach out to businesses for sponsorships or donations
Help plan and execute online auctions
🗓️ Event Coordination (Behind the Scenes)
Every adoption event or fundraiser starts with planning! From home, you can:
Coordinate volunteers
Communicate with vendors or venues
Create promotional materials and event listings
💌 Outreach & Communication
Respond to general email or social media inquiries
Send follow-ups to adopters and fosters
Help write newsletters, blog posts, or thank-you notes
Reach out to potential partners or community groups

Foster
Fostering is one of the most powerful ways you can help animals in need. By opening your home temporarily, you’re giving a cat or kitten a second chance — and helping us make space for the next rescue.
Whether you foster for a few days or a few months, CAC will provide all the supplies and support — you provide the love.
Types of Fostering
Bottle Baby Fosters:
Take care of the tiniest lives — newborn kittens who need to be bottle-fed every few hours. We’ll train you and guide you every step of the way.
Weaned Kitten Fosters
These babies are eating on their own but still need a safe, loving space to grow until they’re old enough for adoption.
Mama + Babies Fosters
Give a mother cat a quiet place to raise her kittens. You get to support her while she does the hard work!
Medical Fosters
Provide rest and recovery for cats or kittens healing from illness, injury, or surgery. CAC covers all medical expenses.
Socialization Fosters
Help shy or under-socialized cats learn to trust humans. This is great for patient people who want to make a big emotional impact.
Short-Term / Emergency Fosters
Only available for a few days? Going out of town next month? That’s okay! We always need short-term fosters for animals in transition.
